About & FAQ

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide museums with beautiful, culturally specific jewelry designed to complement their exhibitions. To this end, we have searched the world and reference material, to bring you designs that reflect our world’s rich cultural diversity and a variety of historical eras. Collections range from Art Deco to Zoological, Ancient Egypt to Contemporary. In addition, we often include educational inserts with our pieces to further the customer’s understanding and appreciation of our jewelry. We believe it is extremely important for museums to create more custom products in order to reflect their institutions holdings, thereby educating the customer and disseminating the rich beauty found in the museum. This allows the customer to take home a bit of their museum experience and remember it whenever they put on their beautiful piece of jewelry.

The Designer

KJK Jewelry was established in 1984 by designer Katherine J. Kornblau. In the last thirty years, Katherine’s business has moved out of the little red wagon by the beach on Fire Island and into a Madison Avenue showroom. She has become one of the most versatile and respected jewelry designers in the museum store industry today. KJK Jewelry expands on Katherine’s lifelong love of global art and culture. Katherine spent time in Lima, Peru and in Guadalajara, Mexico and she studied at the École de Louvre in Paris while completing her Art History degree at Oberlin College. Her international education and interests are reflected in her designs, which are popular with museums and art galleries both nationally and internationally.

The Company

KJK Jewelry creates custom collections for prestigious institutions such as The White House Historical Association, The Smithsonian Institution, The Museum of Fine Arts Boston, and The American Museum of Natural History. These collections are designed to complement their exhibits.

The KJK Jewelry pieces are available for purchase on our website, or by phone, and we encourage you to reach out to Katherine and have her assist you as you curate your business’s next big collection. KJK Jewelry’s studio is located on Madison Avenue, one block away from the Empire State Building. All aspects of business, from initial design through production to shipping, occur in the New York studio. Each piece of jewelry is carefully designed by Katherine before being handcrafted by her and her skilled staff. The artisans craft every piece of KJK jewelry with the highest attention to quality and detail. Because the pieces are hand made in the United States, KJK is able to precisely match your needs and ensure quality control of the highest standard.
